Senior Technical Program Manager - Twitter Data Science

  • Full-time

Company Description

Twitter is what’s happening and what people are talking about right now. For us, life’s not about a job, it’s about purpose. We believe real change starts with conversation. Here, your voice matters. Come as you are and together we’ll do what’s right (not what’s easy) to serve the public conversation.

Job Description

Who we are:

Are you interested in helping to build a better experience for hundreds of millions of users on Twitter?

The TPM team at Twitter leads cross-functional delivery of strategic technical initiatives across the company. The Data Science team is working closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Research teams to drive personalized experience across the Twitter app and grow the adoption of Twitter. We work backwards from a deep understanding of business problems and objectives to drive business impact through the application of data science. We are responsible for ensuring that we have comprehensive and validated data, defining clear and consistent metrics, and matching appropriate statistical/empirical rigor to the magnitude of the business decision informed. The technical approach that we use to deliver results is less important than the impact we have on the business; building a complex production ML model is no more valuable than designing a metric if the business impact is the same. We believe in the power of bringing diverse perspectives together.

The Data Science team is responsible for developing data science and machine learning solutions for understanding user behavior (acquisition, retention, churn, etc.) and defining product personalization strategy through measurement design, experimentation, causal analysis, and post-launch learning.

As a Data Science TPM in this role, you will drive execution and delivery of Twitter’s Data Science Strategy and lead highest priority initiatives that enable a scaled understanding of customer behavior and needs, causal reasoning, and accelerate the development of self-serve analytics.
