Staff iOS Engineer - Media Infrastructure (Remote Eligible)

  • Full-time

Company Description

Twitter is what’s happening and what people are talking about right now. For us, life's not about a job, it's about purpose. We believe real change starts with conversation. Here, your voice matters. Come as you are and together we'll do what's right (not what's easy) to serve the public conversation.

Job Description

The Media Foundation Client team takes Twitter’s purpose to serve the public conversation and makes it more powerful with rich, accessible, and performant media experiences. Every video you watch, every funny GIF you laugh at, and every Space you take part in is powered by our media library. Especially with the current pandemic and everything else that is going on in the world, there has never been a more important time for media. Whatever emotion, we want to be there.

As a Staff iOS engineer on the Media Foundation Client team, you'll help us envision and build the next generation of Twitter's iOS media library. You'll work directly with our internal customers to understand how we can make our media library easier to use, more robust, and more adaptable. You'll also:

  • Play a leadership role on the team, helping to set technical direction, crafting our engineering culture, and thinking proactively about the future of our codebase

  • Support and maintain your software to ensure a high-quality customer experience

  • Collaborate with, learn from, and mentor teammates

We've got team members all across the US. Some of us work from offices (Boston, NYC, Atlanta, and SF) and others work full-time remote (FL, TX, and CO). We also work closely with teams in London. We manage this together by taking advantage of what we can do asynchronously, making the most of our time when we do get together, and regularly scheduling in-person team meetups.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with AVFoundation and developing iOS libraries

  • Experience leading complex projects and driving the technical direction

  • Experience mentoring and coaching other technical members of the team

  • A focus on growth and learning

  • A passion for solving customer problems

  • Experience with Objective-C is a big plus

You don't need a computer science degree to apply. We are keen to welcome people from all backgrounds. In fact, many people on the team don't have a computer science degree (or any degree, for that matter).
