Job Description

Are you looking for an internship and graduating in 2023 or 2024? If yes, then this application is for you! We’re looking for students with a keen interest in research and analysis relating to Violent Organizations - such as terrorist groups.  

The teams in Twitter’s Trust & Safety department are on the front lines of safety, expression, and policy issues that affect the Internet. We work to ensure user trust, protect user rights, and mitigate legal risk through policy definition, Terms of Service enforcement, and safety advocacy. Site Policy team members focus on a range of policy areas, including those relating to Violent Organizations. We innovate, experiment, and move quickly. We’re a learning organization with a growth mindset, and we’re always looking for ways to improve our policies, processes, and ourselves.

Qualifications

  • An Undergraduate or Post-graduate student 

  • Preferably enrolled in a Terrorism, International Studies, Security Studies (including cyber security), or Psychology course (exceptions will be considered)

  • A keen interest in, and willingness to learn about, terrorism, violent extremism, and other related topics

  • Basic computer skills (the role will require familiarity with Google Sheets and Docs)

  • Prior experience with open source research methods preferred

This position will support efforts against Violent Organizations by conducting open source research with minimal guidance, compiling these findings into briefs, and drafting some analyses and assessments. The successful candidate may also be called up to perform other research and administrative duties as required.
