Twitter is looking for a Senior Data Governance Analyst to be part of the team implementing various data management, analytics, and governance projects. This position will report into the finance data office and requires skills to effectively collaborate within Finance and across broad parts of the organization and influence others without reliance on formal authority.

What you’ll do

Data is the oil of the digital age. Twitter Finance is implementing a Data Governance Program to ensure our data is treated as valuable assets. Our mission is to improve the quality of the data with our “get clean, stay clean” initiative, accelerate operational efficiency, improve data literacy amongst our teams, foster a culture of data management and create a stewardship community around our data to ensure data is treated like our most valuable asset.

Responsibilities

You will be working in the Data Governance Office to drive the Finance team's Data Governance program initiatives forward in this role. You will manage and improve the Data Stewardship ProgramYou will document data policies, standards, and initiative proposals in collaboration with other members of the Data Governance team. Create educational materials for the adoption of the Data Governance framework. Develop policies concerning metadata quality for the Business Glossary and Data Dictionary. Perform analysis and make recommendations for various data governance initiatives. You will perform data profiling and root cause analysis for data quality problems to improve the health of our Finance data. You’ll work cross-functionally to implement multiple data governance initiatives. Mentor junior analysts and other less senior team members.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Finance, or other relevant fields (or equivalent experience). 

  • You have 3+ years of Data Governance and/or Information Management disciple experience.

  • You have 3+ years of experience in creating documentation for audiences with different levels of technical skill.

  • You have 2+ years of experience creating and implementing data quality policies and standards. 

  • You have 1+ years of experience with metrics gathering, tracking, and reporting.

  • You have strong analytical skills.

  • Experience creating infographics to communicate workflow processes and abstract topics more clearly.

  • You have a demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and tools quickly

  • You take ownership of your work and manage your time independently

  • You have a keen eye for detail and are a talented writer

  • You’re a great communicator, confident, personable, and comfortable working with internal teams

  • You’re extremely well organized and love creating systems that make everyone’s lives easier 

  • You’re capable of handling the pace and ambiguity that comes with working in a fast-paced tech environment

  • You’re comfortable with (maybe even excited about) working on a distributed team, even post-COVID
