Job Description

The Sustainability Manager will work on our Sustainability team to help support Twitter’s efforts in energy auditing, tracking, and efficiency projects. The team works to advance sustainability in all workstreams at Twitter and throughout our operations. Through this work, the team manages several key priorities, including: the development and implementation of company-wide sustainability and climate-related commitments; internal and external sustainability reporting and communications; client, investor and stakeholder engagement on sustainability; reputation & operational risk management; and operational sustainability management. The Sustainability Manager will work with the team on a variety of projects to help further our impact.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

  • Reporting – generate site and portfolio reports from data management systems regarding energy consumption and projected consumption based on conservation opportunities.
  • Energy Analysis – analyze properties within the portfolio for trends and anomalies in energy consumption.
  • Greenhouse Gas Emissions – assist with the annual preparation of Greenhouse Gas Inventory including data management and calculating GHG emissions.
  • Developing and expanding Twitter’s environmental management program including but not limited to ISO 14001, 14064, and 50001.
  • Support Twitter’s carbon transparency efforts through submissions to various reporting entities including CDP, SBTi and others.
  • Sustainability Analysis – analyze waste and water trends.
  • Perform analytics using team-specific software and back-end analytic software
  • Resolve utility account issues by working with utility companies and bill processing firms.
  • Partner with our on prem and cloud data center teams to understand energy consumption trends, and project consumption trends
  • Maintain completeness and accuracy of utility data, property data, etc. in databases to ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting.
  • Teamwork – Participate on Energy Team process improvement projects. Actively communicate progress to the portfolio program manager, the facilities management team and the client.
  • Assess renewable energy programs & opportunities both directly from utility providers and through opportunities like RECs, PPAs etc.
     

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in environmental sciences, math, finance, engineering, IT or similar analytical discipline.
  • 3-4 year(s) of related work experience or internships with knowledge of energy efficiency, sustainability concepts, GHG Emissions Inventory and LEED frameworks, preferred.
  • Proficient in using Google Suite, and MS Excel to combine and analyze data from various sources, and generate reports and graphics. Must be able to combine large volumes of data for consolidated reporting.
  • Experience with Energy Star Portfolio Manager or similar energy benchmarking tools preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management, project management, and follow-through.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to work across multiple departments and units within an organization.
