Job Description
The Machine Learning Ethics, Transparency, and Accountability team (META) sits within Cortex, Twitter’s centralized Machine Learning (ML) organization. META is responsible for investigating the fairness and transparency of Twitter’s automated algorithmic decision making systems. It operates at the intersection of ML, Social Science, Policy, Legal, and User Research in collaboration with numerous partners from across Twitter.
The META Product Manager will be responsible for establishing the team’s product strategy and supporting their day-to-day execution against it. This will involve close partnership with product and ML teams across Twitter, advising senior leadership on related strategic matters, and engaging with the academic community where appropriate.
We’re looking for an experienced technical Product Manager with domain expertise in ML Ethics or a conceptually related industry such as Privacy, Security, or Accessibility for large-scale consumer tech. A strong candidate will have both a solid technical understanding of product development as well as a clear customer-centric approach to product management which has been repeatedly demonstrated through prior work experience. A successful candidate should be comfortable developing new and revolutionary products, sometimes the first in industry.
Qualifications
- Experience building Machine Learning focused products, preferably in the ethics, fairness, and transparency domain
- 8+ years of product management or similar experience
- Strong track record of establishing and delivering on product strategies within a larger organization, to the measured benefit of internal customer teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to successfully advocate for a team within a large organization
- Demonstrated ability to simplify and present technical concepts to non-technical partners to explain impact and drive support
