Senior Program Manager - Finance Systems

Twitter’s Finance Systems team is searching for an experienced, motivated, proactive Program Manager to join the team! The candidate will lead, manage, and drive critical priorities for Twitter’s Finance Org by leading in projects of all sizes. You will play a significant role in the team's strategy, objectives, and execution. You will work with a diverse team to manage projects from concept to discovery through the implementation process. When leading on multiple projects in a fast paced environment, you are able to clearly articulate and communicate the issues, status, and results and can facilitate and drive decisions with cross functional leaders. In order to have a solid understanding of the project, you can dive into the details of complex analyses without losing sight of the overall objective.  An ability to think critically, plan and execute effectively while collaborating with cross functional leaders will be key to success in this role.

The ideal candidate has a strong business acumen with a deep understanding of Finance operations, project management lifecycle, and finance system implementation. The Finance program manager will establish positive, professional relationships with our major stakeholders, and act as a trusted partner and a respectful challenger. The individual must be a strategic thinker while having the proven ability to work well with the entire organization to ensure consistency of process across Finance.  Lastly, this position requires excellent people management, organization and leadership skills, proven project management success, business and system analysis, critical thinking, understanding of internal controls, and strong communication skills. The candidate must also be able to influence change, adapt to dynamic and ambiguous environments, and be self-directed.

Job Description

  • Lead the entire project lifecycle from ensuring clearly defined project objectives and expectations, developing detailed project plans, ensure timely delivery of critical milestones within scope with measurable project results, manage dependencies, presenting project status, risks, remediation plans to executive sponsors and SteerCo members.
  • Lead and manage (a) program manager(s) to drive Finance projects / system enhancements addressing highly complex business issues that have significant impact to the Finance function and across Twitter. 
  • Manage and develop proposals, bids, quotations, RFP responses, or other documents describing organizational products and services and fit gap analysis in response to requests from business. Manage proposal deadlines by defining and reviewing the deliverables and due dates for the proposal and ensure the quality of deliverables is met.

  • Lead working sessions, reviews, and other discussions involving relevant stakeholders to ensure high-quality deliverables. 

  • Collaborate with Finance and cross-functional teams to understand the project objective and problem statement, document supporting data and as is process and workflows, identify gaps, drive consensus to achieve an agreed set of business requirements, understand and communicate upstream and downstream system / process impacts and dependencies on the project.

  • Guide business project requestor to identify project benefits and assist with building a compelling business case.

  • Gather, capture, and finalize business requirements and user stories. Drive, align, and present project overview and lead requirement vetting meetings with business leads and IT.

  • Lead, drive, manage change management activities, including but not limited to implementing change management in systems or processes across teams for each project, and build a training plan. Assess necessary business readiness activities and integrate them into project plans.

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project, including monitoring of project resource needs, preparation of project documentation, status reports that track accomplishments, milestones, key issues and/or change controls.

  • Execute projects with a high degree of accuracy and integrity. Accountable for meeting agreed upon scope, schedule and quality measures on projects.

  • Participate and develop end user UAT test plans and test scripts. Ensure entry and exit criteria for testing phases are met, and manage the business sign off process.

  • Work with the team to establish quantitative and/or qualitative metrics of benefits and means for tracking to ensure project objectives are met.

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years relevant Program and Project Management experience leading Finance projects and system enhancements.

  • Experience leading projects on ERP or CRM systems (preferably Oracle ERP and SFDC). 

  • Exceptional verbal & written communication skills (includes the capability to listen to the needs of others, research and comprehend complex matters, articulate issues in a clear and concise manner and present findings as well as recommendations, orally and written)

  • Self-motivated and can lead and motivate others.

  • Experience with global Finance operations.

  • Solid experience with all aspects of IT system implementation including, but not limited to, as-is and to-be business process mapping, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, cutover and go-live activities.

  • Solid experience developing and executing complex project plans.

  • Experience in building and leading a high performance project team from both internal and external teams.

  • Strong ability to develop clear and concise documentation and slide decks to facilitate discussions / decisions with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strategic thinking and understanding of the intention and purpose of decisions to be made.

  • Strong driver and able to work in a fast paced and ambiguous environment.

  • People management and mentoring experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Gsuite (Google doc, slides, sheets, drive) MS Project, Excel, MS Word and Visio, Lucidchart for process flow, JIRA, project management tool.

Education

  • BS in business, finance, systems, computer science or other related field

  • PMP Certification desirable
