What You'll Do

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will use data to provide insights into our policies and workflows, measure and forecast case volumes across several functions and timezones, and make recommendations for product and process improvements. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining reports and dashboards that house information on operational performance, policy vulnerabilities, platform threats, and legal compliance. You will work cross-functionally with different T&S teams to ensure their reporting and analytics needs are met. 

You will:

  • Collaborate with teams across Trust & Safety and external partners to understand how the business operates and recommend strategies to drive continuous improvement using data-driven insights
  • Create effective data visualizations, reports, and analytical solutions that provide T&S partners access to critical metrics and insights
  • Assist with capacity planning by providing accurate volume forecasts, case prioritization, and staffing models for backlog management
  • Develop quantitative models utilizing analytical tools, statistical rigor, and data mining capabilities to drive efficiency
  • Help project managers & operational teams establish benchmarks, inputs and critical metrics for new programs
  • Design, develop, test and launch new dashboards and reporting solutions into production
  • Work with the business intelligence and engineering groups to understand existing internal tools and data warehouses and to identify data quality and reliability improvements
  • Partner with engineers to make recommendations about how to log, store, and build data architecture for storing large amounts of data
  • Conduct deep dives & analytical investigations into inconsistent trends in data
  • Provide ad-hoc analytics support as required to drive business decision making 
  • Automate and streamline data analysis where feasible

Qualifications

Note: We have multiple roles at varying levels of seniority, and will match candidates appropriately based on experience)

  • BA/BS degree or local equivalent required. Preferred degree in engineering, computer science, business, statistics, mathematics or data analytics (or related field)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and present the results with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Extensive experience in Visualization tools like Tableau, Looker or similar
  • Experience manipulating data sets using R or Python and handling large scale unstructured data
  • Extensive SQL experience for data extraction, manipulation, and analyses; including stored procedures, complex joins, creation of views, and database scripting
  • Acute attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining analytic approaches to non-technical audiences
  • Strong project management abilities, with a proven track record of being able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously to successful completion
  • 4+ years of data analysis/reporting, visualization, and dashboard creation
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment 
  • Good understanding of statistical concepts and experience with business applications of statistical methods (e.g., hypothesis testing, regressions, sampling) & Predictive analytics

Nice to have: 

  • Real-world experience with Machine Learning and Data Mining strongly preferred
  • Experience with BigQuery 
  • Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling)
