Job Description

Core skills:

  • Identifying and analyzing the most impactful conversations and events on Twitter

  • Detecting and verifying false and harmful information online

  • A fundamental understanding of "content quality" as well as the analytics and Curation Standards by which we might judge and measure that within a product surface

  • Effective verbal and written communication. Can present to broader team on specific projects

  • Is able to prioritize work effectively, with time pressure

  • Is capable of, and receptive to, giving and receiving constructive feedback

Responsibilities:

  • Curate live updates around various topics and events across News, Entertainment and Sports for Twitter customers

  • Identify events and emerging trends on Twitter that will drive unique content experiences

  • Review and provide standards-based editorial feedback on curated content produced by peers and others

  • Analyze and annotate content signals across a range of topics with a focus on trending conversations and breaking news stories. 

  • Work cross-collaboratively with teammates and internal partners to create strategies for key events in the Eastern North America time zone 

Qualifications

  • 2 - 4 years of journalism; extensive experience using Twitter as a discovery tool, with a familiarity of the various communities on the platform  

  • Deep knowledge of high-quality, unbiased reporting

  • Experience curating content (Tweets) in real-time or for publishing

  • Experience with news-gathering tools like Tweetdeck, Dataminr for News, etc preferred

  • Experience with content classification and metadata management for knowledge graph building

  • Experience managing projects of low to moderate complexity is a plus

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, SQL knowledge is a plus

  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends
