We own the definition & delivery of the tooling to automate, simplify & ensure compliance with internal & external standards. Job Description

As the product manager for SDLC tooling you will own the roadmap for the SDLC portfolio of tools. In partnership with Engineering, you will

  • Determine which tools should be built in house versus where external/off-the-shelf options should be used.
  • Develop a go-to-market strategy for the tooling and SDLC standard.
  • Develop product requirements and partner with engineering and internal/external partners to deliver them.
  • Manage the tools through initial launch and follow-on releases, identifying dependencies and clearing blockers
  • Define the success metrics and track performance for the SDLC tools. Use metrics to investigate issues and uncover trends & patterns in need of improvement.
  • Define, design and supervise experiments with clear, measurable goals to evaluate & optimize the adoption of the SDLC
  • Communicate and evangelize the SDLC product vision and progress throughout Twitter

Qualifications

You have solid experience in Product Management & Software Engineering and you’re passionate about Engineering excellence, standards and compliance. You know how to develop a set of requirements for adopting technology and can communicate benefits and drawbacks. You have done build vs. buy analyses in your past, you’ve defined engineering standards & you understand the importance of engineering standard methodologies to facilitate compliance with internal & external standards. You have a good knowledge of existing developer tools/architectural components and their tradeoffs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of product management experience with a track record of successfully delivering products.
  • Computer science, electrical/computer engineering, and/or software engineering. background required; a background in developer tooling and DevOps is a strong plus.
  • Ability to think strategically and craft a compelling product vision.
  • Experience driving impact through cross-functional leadership.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have a get-stuff-done demeanor, have great positive energy, and thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management, its phases & gates.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to justify requirements & features.
  • High attention to detail & proven track record to manage multiple, opposing priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision.
