Does the idea of growing the collective health, openness, and civility of public conversation on Twitter interest you? If so, you should join us!
Job Description
Every month, Twitter removes millions of fake and spammy accounts that violate our rules, and stops countless more from registering accounts in the first place. Our work to protect Twitter from spam, fake engagement, phishing attacks, and account takeover attempts is always ongoing.
We’re looking for a lead for our policy development efforts in the anti-spam domain. We’re seeking someone who is expert in this subject area and can work creatively to design and implement policies to help us fight spam and platform manipulation strategically and at scale. You’ll work closely with other members of the Site Integrity team, as well as with Twitter’s Product and Engineering organizations, to help craft a holistic approach across policy, product, investigations, and enforcement.
You will:
- Guide team strategy and policy development using deep subject matter expertise, research, and a keen understanding of how these issues play out on Twitter.
- Design and help operationalize policies across the full range of anti-spam and anti-manipulation issues — and help ensure those policies can be implemented effectively at global scale.
- Provide expert policy guidance, assessment, and advice to the teams developing anti-spam heuristics and other automated policy enforcements.
- Investigate novel challenges in the anti-spam area, working closely with specialists across Site Integrity to build a comprehensive understanding of key issues, threat actors, and trends in spam and malicious behavior.
- Mentor junior policy specialists, and help grow and develop the global Platform Integrity Policy team.
- Help represent Twitter in cross-industry efforts to address anti-manipulation issues.
- Help inform Twitter’s Site Integrity strategy by engaging in the broader community of experts and staying informed on developments in the evolving research space.

- You have an entrepreneurial mentality and are flexible, self-starting, self-motivated, and hard-working.
- You are a problem-solver and collaborator; you can craft and execute on a vision while working cross-functionally.
- You are comfortable working with multinational teams, and are open to international travel.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (7+ years) working on relevant issues (anti-spam, safety, and/or content policy), preferably at an internet or technology company.
- University degree or equivalent professional experience.

- Previous experience with or knowledge of any of the following, a plus: Scala, Java, Javascript, Python, R, C/C++, HTML, CSS, SQL.
