Who We Are

Twitter is a mission with a business that funds it! One of the key objectives at Twitter focuses on increasing it’s revenue durability by getting paid for multiple jobs. In this role, you will have an opportunity to drive one or more of the key work streams for this objective. You will have an opportunity to work across all layers of the tech stack and across a variety of domains which will drive the revenue for Twitter. 

 

As a TPM in Twitter, your responsibilities will span the life of the product/service. This includes collaborating with business stakeholders by influencing strategy & vision, creating and communicating a successful design by collaborating with product, engineering and design stakeholders. You will also establish processes for improved execution, tracking and risk management, and improving the product & execution quality by instituting best practices. 

 

What You’ll Do

  • You will lead a team of ~5 Technical Program Managers

  • You will oversee coaching, provide technical and career mentorship, and handle performance management for your direct reports. 

  • You will work with partners and your team to define technical roadmaps, and plan and track quarterly goals for the team with focus on Twitter’s revenue durability efforts

  • You will represent the team in various technical and non-technical contexts to the rest of the organization and the company. 

  • You will guide the team and encourage a growth mindset as it continues to evolve its work culture and processes.

  • You will use your previous experience to help the team make the right decisions about the right things at the right time.

  • You will prioritize the team’s programs and work allocations across a portfolio of programs and operational improvements

  • You will seek to increase overall effectiveness by systematically identifying and solving root cause organizational and technological challenges discovered throughout program delivery

Who You Are

  • Experienced cross-functional lead, with 8+ years as a TPM, engineering leader, product manager, or related discipline

  • 3+ years experience as a people manager (a manager with more than 3 reports) 

  • TPM at heart and intentionally transitioned to people management and is looking for a new challenge. 

  • Excels in keeping a distributed team healthy and happy, managing stakeholders, maintaining a large portfolio of services amid ambiguity. 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent work experience

  • Solid track record partnering with product teams to define strategy and requirements

  • Proficient collaborating with engineering teams to design, scope, and deliver high scale services within distributed systems

  • Consistently trusted leader, able to drive large teams and executives through complex, multi-faceted data-driven decisions

  • Tireless multitasker, with capacity to own and execute multiple large programs simultaneously

 

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Passionate interest in Twitter’s products and mission

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering or a related technical discipline

  • Experience working with several different development methodologies and productivity tools

  • Consistent track record of shipping consumer products with broad customer impact

  • Experience building or managing work on highly-available, scalable software products and services

  • Proven ability to identify and resolve systemic issues in both software and people systems

  • Interest and capacity to mentor TPMs and champion growth
