Senior Product Manager, Conversational Foundations - Relationships [Remote]

  • Full-time

Company Description

Twitter is what’s happening and what people are talking about right now. For us, life’s not about a job, it’s about purpose. We believe real change starts with conversation. Here, your voice matters. Come as you are and together we’ll do what’s right (not what’s easy) to serve the public conversation.

Job Description

Our team at Twitter is responsible for helping people form and sustain connections on Twitter through conversations. This includes encouraging positive interactions in forming and sustaining connections, helping people on Twitter “find their people” and belonging. We're seeking a Senior Product Manager to help lead this team.

You will be responsible for driving a product strategy and roadmap to keep customers feeling safe to start, engage, and participate in conversations on Twitter. This is a high-visibility leadership role, where you'll be empowered to rethink the fundamental mechanisms for how people find and talk to each other on Twitter, and help make online spaces more connected and fulfilling.

Qualifications

What you'll do:

  • Advocate for customers who are looking for “their people” online - Black Twitter, writers and artists, sports and music fans, activists, LGBTQ+ Twitter, and tons of specific communities - and for keeping them engaged and participating in the global conversation on Twitter.

  • Bring bold ideas to build industry-leading features in online conversations and communities, to help people connect in new ways.

  • Champion the team's mission across the company, using research and product work to inspire change across internal teams and in the broader ecosystem.

  • Lead through learning: experiment and iterate on features, grounded in knowledge from social psychologists, data scientists, machine learning teams, internal and ecosystem partners, as well as insights from customers directly.

  • Build positive relationships across Product, Engineering, Research, Design, Data Science, Legal, Policy, Trust & Safety, and many other partners to transform ideas into a global roadmap.

  • Facilitate the execution of that roadmap to ship products that are ground-breaking for our customers. Lead teams to deliver consistently, while building a culture where everyone feels ownership.

Who you are:

  • A successful product manager will communicate courageously to build trust. You're excited to take an active role in shaping the future of Twitter’s product and organization, while embodying our core values.
  • You have a demonstrated history of leading and delivering consumer products in complex spaces.

  • You are passionate about enabling a diversity of voices to participate in online spaces, and believe an inclusive global conversation needs to work for everyone

  • You are experienced with product management and bring a customer centric, data-driven approach to building excellent products.

  • You make informed and thoughtful product decisions, taking into account the broad range of circumstances inherent in building products that serve a large global community.

  • You have excellent empathy skills, and seek diverse perspectives from partners inside and outside the team. You facilitate a product vision rather than dictate, through thoughtful and constructive conversations between members of your team, partners, and leadership.

  • You enjoy making difficult things happen and solving the many challenges along the way.

  • You are patient, determined, flexible, and open-minded.

  • You have unimpeachable ethics and excellent judgment.

  • Experience in one or more of these areas preferred but not required: online conversation and communities, interactive online spaces like dating, gaming, or social networks, social psychology, global product experience.

A few other things we value:

  • Multicultural fluency - in order to serve the public conversation, we need leaders that reflect the global experiences of our customer base.

  • Diversity of perspectives - Bringing a range of lived experiences to the table makes us a better team and better company. We value distance traveled and non-traditional paths to where you are today.

  • Respectful boundaries - We care deeply about our mission and work hard, but we also value protecting healthy boundaries to rest, recharge, and prevent burnout.
