Job Description

What You’ll Do:

You will build systems to manage hundreds of petabytes of data and process tens of millions of events per second in real time. The services you build will integrate directly with Twitter’s products, opening the door to new and cutting-edge features. You will work with open-source technologies such as Spark, Beam, Scio, Hadoop, Scalding, and cloud technologies across the Google Cloud stack. You will empower dozens of engineering teams, hundreds of co-workers, and millions of users to dream of new insights and new possibilities.

Data Infrastructure is hiring for:

  • Core Data Libraries - open source abstraction libraries, such as Spark, Beam, and Scalding, that power almost all of Twitter’s batch and streaming data applications

Help us solve some of our biggest challenges!

  • Work to build the future of Twitter’s data processing infrastructure

  • Optimize our batch and real-time compute stacks for scale and customer experience

  • Understand how Twitter’s data is used and “what it all means”

  • Work with hardware, network, and SiteOps teams to design next-generation storage and compute platforms

 

Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer required.
  • In-depth knowledge in distributed systems, database internals, Linux and networking fundamentals, or performance analysis.and programming (Java, C++, or Scala highly preferred)
  • Experience with and/or a history of contributions to Spark, Beam, Scalding, or other related open source technologies highly preferred

Notice (Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act)

The expected salary range for this role to be performed in Colorado is USD$114,000.00 - USD$149,000.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for participation in Twitter’s Performance Bonus Plan and Equity Incentive Plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
