Overview
Topics make it easy for customers to keep up with the global conversation about the things they’re most interested in. In this role, you’ll work with a cross-functional team of curators, designers, engineers, researchers, data scientists, and marketers to ensure that our Topics taxonomy fully represents the interests of hundreds of millions of global users. You’ll be responsible for bringing new Topics to market, managing our global list of Topics, and thinking holistically about the unique customer needs, considerations, and constraints of different topics across languages and regions.

The Topics team (within the Consumer Product org) helps serve this mission by helping customers stay informed about the things they care about most. We help them discover new interests, keep up with the public conversation, and go deeper on the topics they care about. Our team is a key driver of company growth, but we also emphasize putting our customers first and making sure we are providing long term value.
What You’ll Be Doing
Have a wide reaching, global impact on how people connect with their interests and stay informed about the things they care about most.
Build a deep understanding of Topics customers and identify ways in which Twitter can better serve the interests of our customers across the globe.
Collaborate with curation, engineering, design, user research & data science to launch Topics that our customers love and make sure our Topics taxonomy fully reflects the diverse needs of all Twitter users.
Define how we measure success as we evolve our Topics taxonomy and work closely with Data Science to track progress, make analytical decisions and drive to clarity
Drive a product roadmap that prioritizes high-impact customers solutions, contributes to important company goals, and aligns with key company objectives around health, privacy and security.
Partner closely with other product teams to support efficient decision making, principled product ideation, and smooth project execution.
Represent the work of the team with leadership and key partners across the company.
Qualifications
Who You Are
5+ years of product management experience
A track record of shipping successful consumer-facing products
A proven understanding of engineering concepts and a technical depth that lets you connect with and earn the respect of our extraordinary engineering team
Established history of collaboration with user research, design, data science and engineering on multi-quarter roadmaps that serve customer and company needs
Demonstrate the maturity required to gracefully handle contentious issues around sensitive areas like politics, user privacy and misinformation
Experience building products to serve diverse customers across languages and regions
A passion for building inclusive products that generate user growth responsibly
Excited about content classification, ranking, and relevance
Energetic and positive, even in stressful situations
