Who We Are

Twitter is looking for a Senior Data Specialist to help us better understand what users are talking about on the platform and arrange that data into a user friendly, consumable graph. This work allows us to serve the best content, make informed product decisions and generally better understand our users and their interests to make Twitter a better and more engaging experience. 

 

What You’ll Do

We’re looking for someone enthusiastic to help us organize Twitter content, enabling integration between this data and internal Twitter products. This person will be responsible for helping to organize Twitter content into a hierarchical taxonomy, serve customer needs through internal project management and help us to build a centralized Knowledge Graph based on Twitter content and concepts. 

 

Things you may do on a daily basis:

 

  • Proactively identify holes in our graph and propose solutions on how to fill the gaps

  • Requesting reports from our analytics teams to analyze for understanding into how Knowledge Graph is performing

  • Working with project managers to hear customer requirements and create execution plans for growing our graph signals

  • Strategizing on how to grow our graph in the next 6-12 months to meet upcoming customers needs and offer new product solutions 

  • Ensuring graph is meeting pre-defined standards on what it means to be healthy

The ideal candidate is a great teammate while also being a problem solver.  This candidate is someone who has an thrist for understanding what is happening in the world (especially on Twitter) and a desire to help drive a more engaging user experience.  This candidate is someone who is equally as excited to learn new things as they are to work on a team and help teach others.  Finally, this candidate is someone who is detail oriented and meticulous about their work while also remaining flexible to change and comfortable with multitasking.

  • A love for the Twitter product and how it is used around the world

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across different areas of a business

  • Experience working to deadline, delivering solutions to unstructured business challenges in ambiguous and fast-paced environments

  • Good time management skills

  • A strong attention to detail and are highly organized

  • Advanced ability for problem solving

 

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English.  Additional language abilities a plus

  • Experience with content classification and metadata management 

  • Implementation experience with taxonomies or ontologies 

  • BS degree in Business, Mathematics, Library Sciences or other related field

  • Proficient in MS Excel.  SQL knowledge a plus

  • 4-5 years experience in a technology, data related or program management field
