Our Curation team is on a mission to better facilitate this through the curation of the best, most relevant, and timely content that reaches, engages, and delights one of the largest daily audiences in the world!

Who You Are

The Curation team contextualizes topics of interest including breaking news, politics, health, social justice, sports and entertainment. We’re looking for a skilled Curator to help us identify and contextualize the best Tweets, photos, and videos in real-time around those topics.

The ideal candidate for this role should be confident covering a wide variety of topics and have experience with global news and US politics. They should be comfortable fact-checking and verifying content and information in these areas. They must also be capable of quickly and accurately identifying the best Twitter content in Tweets, photos and videos, writing informative context and peer-reviewing the work of colleagues. This position is based in Australia and focused on content in multiple markets also including the US, UK, India and the wider APAC region.  This position will be based in either Australia, Singapore, Tokyo or remote in an aligning timezone and focus on content in multiple markets including the US, UK, India and the wider APAC region.

Our Curation team works hard to present and reflect outstanding content experiences and conversations in real-time to Twitter users.

What You’ll Do:

  • Identifying the best conversations and events on Twitter across a variety of topics, with a particular emphasis on US politics and/or news from the APAC region

  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication, present to broader team on specific projects

  • Uphold our Curation Standards and demonstrate dedication to accuracy and impartiality

  • Prioritize work effectively, with time pressure

  • Edit copy, provide feedback to colleagues and be receptive to receiving constructive feedback

  • Curate live updates around global breaking news events, political topics and various other content verticals such as sport and entertainment

  • Weave together stories from sequences of Tweets

  • Identify events and emerging trends on Twitter that will drive unique content experiences

  • Work collaboratively with teammates and internal partners to create content strategies for key events in the APAC timezone

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of high-quality, unbiased reporting

  • Work experience: Validated ability working in the field of journalism

  • Extensive experience using Twitter as a discovery tool, with familiarity of the various communities on the platform

  • Experience curating content (Tweets) in real-time or for publishing

  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends

  • Experience with news gathering tools like Tweetdeck, Dataminr for News, etc preferred but not required.

Desirable skills

  • Experience working as part of a global team

  • Proficiency using data to identify opportunities for improving processes or launching new initiatives

  • Articulating feature or service proposals to product managers and software engineers

  • Additional language skills, such as Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Korean, Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, Hindi are a plus to help translate or understand Tweets from other markets and collaborate with colleagues in those regions
