Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) provides the underpinnings of all that makes Twitter run. SRE owns the reliability, scalability, and performance of production services. SRE partners with customers to achieve specific reliability outcomes for services in production, drives cross-org alignment around reliability with customers, establishes and upholds best practices for production services.

We instill in customers a culture of rigor in driving root cause analysis & post-mortems and reduce the total amount of operational work associated with running production services.

Our customers are all engineers at Twitter, whether they are building or supporting clients, backend services, libraries, data pipelines, machine learning models, and so on.

Job Description

What You'll Do

In partnership with the SRE team and focused on a core set of internal services your role is to understand how these systems are used inside of Twitter & what customer problems they solve.  You will then  identify opportunities and a long term strategy to simplify and improve the reliability & day to day operations of these systems and also improve Service Continuity & Reliability across all Twitter. You will:

 

  • Convey your vision through bold product roadmaps, working closely with product leaders, SRE engineers and software engineers, and participate in all levels of team planning.

  • Create and maintain concrete, quantitative, and descriptive profiles of customers and their needs. These include core service backend developers.

  • Prioritize our investments in comprehensive, generalized tooling and automation.

  • Align and partner with customers to standardize services on supported libraries, infrastructure, and system designs.

  • Work with customers to evaluate and improve service operational maturity.

Who You Are

As a Senior Product Manager for SRE, you will develop the strategy & roadmap for a key subset of Twitter’s infrastructure and lead the execution of associated projects in partnership with engineering teams across Twitter.  You have strong experience in Product Management, Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering and Infrastructure, and you enjoy operating on quick iteration cycles while working with internal, but demanding customers and a multitude of stakeholders.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of product management experience.

  • Computer science or engineering background strongly preferred; a background in SRE and devops is a strong plus.

  • Ability to think strategically and craft a compelling product vision.

  • Experience driving impact through cross-functional leadership.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical abilities are must.

  • You have a get-stuff-done attitude, have great positive energy, and thrive in a fast paced environment.

  • You are passionate about technology and can keep up with the latest trends in the field.
