Job Description

Who You Are:

You are passionately committed to creating digital products that are broadly accessible to disabled communities. You understand the challenges of navigating digital spaces as a disabled person, either through your work in this space, personal lived experience, or close relationships. You are a champion of inclusive design practices and a subject matter expert on accessibility in both web and mobile product design. You have hands-on experience contributing to design systems and guidelines for enterprise products, and have demonstrated skills in coaching and advocacy.

What You’ll Do:

As part of this team you’ll be responsible for using your knowledge of accessibility and design systems to help define, guide and build accessibility into Twitter’s product development life cycle. You will work closely with designers, user researchers, product managers and engineers to ensure new Twitter features are accessible and inclusive. You will impact teams across the organization and grow design guidelines supporting accessibility.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Previous experience with accessibility standards and guidelines such as Apple Accessibility Guidelines,  Android Accessibility Guidelines and/or Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 

  • Accessibility compliance experience

  • Experience designing for assistive technologies

  • Experience designing voice/conversational interfaces or sound and haptics design

  • Experience contributing to design systems for digital products

  • Experience driving organizational change through advocacy and coaching

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms, such as desktop and mobile clients
