Responsibilities include:
- Shape and evangelize a culture that takes accessibility beyond compliance and embeds it into Twitter’s design and decision making process.
- Oversee the accessibility functions on the People Team to ensure appropriate workforce representation of people from the disabled community and a fully accessible experience for Tweeps along every stage of the employee lifecycle. Advocate for people from the disabled community within and beyond Twitter.
- Partner with lines of business and teams whose focus is to make accessibility a core consideration from the earliest stages of product design through release, and monitor the state of accessibility of products and services.
- Oversee accessibility training, testing, and consulting for all lines of business to ensure accessibility principles are embedded across all core business functions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, provide recommendations and present materials regarding disability inclusion, people initiatives, diversity, development, engagement and other strategic objectives to executive leadership.
- Build, manage, and develop a team of accessibility specialists.
- Convene an advisory council consisting of accessibility experts from the disabled community to ensure the voices of those with unique accessibility needs are front and center and guide our discussions as we prioritize how we approach the work.
In terms of how you’ll do it, when it’s all said and done, you will have demonstrated leadership, fortitude, creativity, influence, people instincts, and the ability to be both strategic and operational.
