Hours: Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5pm, Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm

My client is a growing structural steel stockholder in North Yorkshire. The company is currently going through significant growth and a central part of this growth is maintaining an effective, efficient, motivated and happy workforce. With this in mind, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, self-motivated individual to join their busy commercial department as a Steel Estimator based in Harrogate.

As an experienced Structural Steel Estimator your responsibilities will be:

• Dealing with incoming enquiries from builders, engineers, architects etc, measuring + qualifying material from engineers and architect’s drawings/ specifications and bill of quantity paperwork.
• Preparation of cost estimates within strict time frames; mainly for structural steel and architectural structures. Mainly projects which require up to 5 tonnes of steel and need a fast turnaround.
• Preparation of detailed quotations and presentation documents
• Maintaining and improving the quality of estimating techniques and processes
• Ensure that customer enquiries are dealt with promptly and professionally right through to delivery of steel on site.

·Ensure key accounts are developed and relationships maintained.

·Maximise the conversion of enquiries to orders

·Ensure any drawings produced by the Drawing Office are accurate to customer requirements.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years' experience as an estimator in structural steel work/ architectural metalwork/ building trade.
• Strong maths and analytical skills, as well as an eye for detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with our clients
• Understanding of computers and processing and spreadsheet programs
