Job Description

The Director of Regional Marketing is responsible for leading and executing comprehensive regional marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, demand generation, and revenue growth. This senior role involves overseeing a regional team of marketers, collaborating with the wider global marketing team, sales and product teams, managing budgets, and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize marketing performance and customer engagement.

Responsibilities:

Regional Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive regional marketing strategies that positions the company as a thought leader and innovator in the education technology sector and business growth goals. 
  • Define and oversee the execution of region-specific marketing plans that drive demand generation and support revenue targets that are informed by strategic market insights and data.

Campaign Development and Activation:

  • Lead the creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns tailored to the regional market, leveraging global themes and toolkits. 
  • Ensure regional content and messaging are adapted to resonate with the local audience, utilizing a multi-channel approach including digital marketing, events, email campaigns, and social media. 
  • Collaborate and help inform the digital demand generation team on regional insights to refine digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing and content marketing to drive lead generation and customer engagement. 
  • Monitor and optimize regional campaign performance to maximize reach and engagement.

Sales and Marketing Alignment:

  • Collaborate closely with regional sales leadership to ensure marketing initiatives support lead generation and pipeline development. 
  • Provide sales teams with necessary tools, content, and training to effectively engage prospects and customers. 
  • Coordinate with global marketing teams to leverage predefined programs, campaigns, toolkits and templates, adapting and localizing them as needed for the regional market.
  • Act as a brand guardian to  maintain consistent application of brand guidelines across all marketing materials, ensuring cohesive brand positioning within the regional market.

Budget Management:

  • Develop, oversee, and optimize the regional marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI. 
  • Monitor and report on marketing expenditures, ensuring alignment with budgetary targets and providing detailed updates to stakeholders.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Establish and track advanced key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of territory and regional marketing campaigns. 
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of comprehensive reports on campaign performance, market trends, and ROI to senior leadership and other key stakeholders. 
  • Utilize data-driven insights to continuously optimize marketing strategies and initiatives.

Customer Advocacy and Thought Leadership:

  • Design and manage regional and territory customer advocacy programs, leveraging customer success stories and testimonials to build brand loyalty. 
  • Promote the company’s thought leadership through strategic content marketing, public speaking opportunities, and participation in industry events.

Market and Competitive Analysis:

  • Develop a framework for regional marketing teams to gather and analyze insights on industry trends, the competitive landscape, and emerging technologies, identifying new growth and differentiation opportunities. 
  • Utilize competitive analysis to assess regional market positioning and refine marketing strategies accordingly.

Innovation and Best Practices:

  • Drive continuous innovation in marketing strategies, exploring new methodologies to improve effectiveness and drive business growth. 
  • Share best practices and innovative ideas with the global marketing team to enhance overall marketing performance.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the regional marketing team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback and support team members professional development, skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in marketing roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity within the education technology or edtech related industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful regional and/or multi territory marketing strategies from both a demand gen and customer lifecycle marketing perspective.
  • Experience in managing and coaching a marketing team - preferably a globally diverse.
  • In depth understanding of the education technology landscape, including trends, challenges and opportunities preferably within EMEA and/or APAC region
  • Strong digital marketing expertise.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring marketing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross functional teams and work within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics and data driven decision making (Tableau and Salesforce proficient).

Preferred location: Europe (UK)

  • Must be able to regularly flex schedule across global time zones to further One Team collaboration across teams. Especially with direct reports located in APAC and European timezones.
