Job Description

Purpose/Overview

Overview

This role will take the responsibility of allocated direct tax compliances, provide tax advice in the area of its expertise, tax support in the finance-projects, and ensure accurate and efficient tax reporting. 

Involves regular internal communication within Finance team, crossfunctions (like Legal, HR) as well as frequent external communication with Local Tax advisors and tax authorities.

 

Key Responsibilities and Outputs

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of direct tax returns (e.g., income tax, withholding tax) accurately and within deadlines.
  • Gather and organize financial data, documents, and records required for tax calculations and filings.
  • Support the research and implementation of tax technology solutions.
  • Support the FP&A teams in forecasting the corporate tax numbers.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify tax-saving opportunities and potential risks.
  • Assist in evaluating the tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and investments. Support tax planning initiatives to optimize the organization's overall tax position.
  • Address any queries from tax authorities and assist in tax audits and assessments.
  • Participate in special tax projects as needed, such as mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, or other significant transactions.
  • Evaluate tax regulations and keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxes.

 

     

    Qualifications

    Proven characteristics for success:

    • Chartered Accountant or An equivalent degree in Accounting and Finance.
    • Minimum 2 years’ work experience in direct taxes with an Accounting firm.
    • Good communication and relationship building skills.
    • Good understanding of accounting rules and analyze the financial information.
    • Passion for learning and adaptability to the tax technology changes.
