Job Description
The corporate communications coordinator/specialist will support and execute the external communications strategy, including public relations and thought leadership initiatives. The position’s responsibilities include managing media requests and arranging interviews, gathering press kits, distributing press materials, managing and updating press lists, media monitoring and organic social media coordination.
The corporate communications coordinator/specialist will play a crucial role in shaping how Turnitin shows up in both education and top-tier media. They will follow news trends and think creatively about new ways to engage with the media. They should be an excellent communicator with high attention to detail and the ability to remain organized and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Maintains online press room
- Responds to inbound media requests
- Manages press kits and related materials
- Prepares media briefs and backgrounding sheets
- Compiles metrics and creates reports for major initiatives and campaigns
- Researches best practices and strategies for communications platforms and media outreach
- Coordinates and collaborates across teams to achieve communications objectives
- Coordinates posts and executes organic social media plan
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organized self-starter with high attention to detail
- Highly skilled at building relationships with target media outlets and journalists
- Ability to report results and share deliverables with company leaders, key stakeholders and communications partners/agencies
- 2-3 years of related work experience
