Job Description
The Customer Engagement team at Turnitin is seeking an instructional designer with video development experience to assist with content creation for Turnitin customers. Your work will help educators and students across the globe gain a better understanding of how our products can support classroom instruction. As a member of the Customer Engagement team, this role will work in conjunction with the Teaching and Learning Innovations team and the Customer Advocacy program. This role will also actively collaborate with teams, such as Marketing, Creative, Product, and Professional Education Services.
This role will focus on helping customers both a) use Turnitin products and b) discover instructional implications for the classroom. Projects may include, but aren’t limited to:
- Produce content for Turnitin administrators, educators, and students (for K-12 and university audiences, US and internationally)
- Manage video projects from inception/design phase to production/release, in collaboration with Turnitin’s Creative team
- Following a template, write storyboards (including scripts)
- Produce videos with screen recordings, audio, voice over, visuals (text/images), closed captioning
- Ongoing management (updating with new releases, etc.) will also be required
- In partnership with the team, maintain an LMS (upload content, manage updates, etc.)
- Assist with program certification development for end-users
Qualifications
- 2+ years of instructional design experience for virtual and/or in-person delivery. Teaching experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or education-related field.
- Proficiency in instructional software tools such as Camtasia, Captivate, etc.
- Experience in developing learning modules for use in self-paced online courses, and/or websites such as video, audio, and graphics
- Experience with incorporating innovative learning methods and content for delivery online, virtual, face-to-face, and hybrid
- Work with SMEs to design and evaluate content
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems
- Knowledgeable of adult learning theories and methodologies (Bloom’s Taxonomy, Gagne, Kirkpatrick’s Levels of Evaluations) and instructional systems design processes such as ADDIE
- Demonstrate an understanding of emerging trends in educational technology and instructional design
- Ability to apply a global perspective to our content design and learning approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google programs
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Demonstrate project management skills (highly organized, ability to track multiple tasks, ability to break down complex topics)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exhibits initiative and in tune with details
