Job Description
The Senior Analyst will demonstrate integrity and excellence in the provision of expert analytical support and production of high-quality financial information for senior internal stakeholders and external investors.
The overall scope of the role is widespread; initially supporting the Performance Reporting pillar within FP&A, this role will provide the ability to add significant impact to a growing, international organization, enabling Turnitin’s leaders to make informed strategic decisions based on your analysis.
You will also provide support in other key strategic projects and initiatives which impact the FP&A function.
Key Accountabilities:
Drive continuous improvement in process relating to forecasting, reporting and tracking our revenue, KPIs, cost base and headcount/FTE reporting, ultimately driving greater accuracy in forecasting and reporting
Support the Senior Director of Performance Reporting and Insights and the Strategic Finance team, through analysis and understanding of revenue, overheads & headcount to develop data-driven insight and assist in the delivery of targets
Maintain cost and headcount models, simplifying the budgeting and forecasting process, driving consistency across regions
Seek continuous improvement opportunities in the modeling and reporting output from the FP&A team to the business,
Working directly with the regional and centre Finance Business Partners in the team, you will provide analysis and data that will provide additional insight into the performance of the company
Drive insight into the KPIs driving revenue in the regions and understand how these lead to and impact on financial decision making
Provide value-added, data-driven commentary on material variances to budget
Preparation and analysis of month-end reporting deliverables and delivery of key financial metrics and other relevant management information to the Senior Director of FP&A
Delivery of high-quality financial analysis and key insights through monthly meeting with expense budget owners and GTM functions
Taking a lead role in the production of ad-hoc financial models to aid in the internal valuation of Turnitin, and external valuation of potential acquisition targets
You will also be required to support the Senior Director of FP&A with ad hoc queries from our parent company, Advance
Qualifications
To succeed in this role you must:
Outstanding problem-solving skills
Have the ability to work cross-functionally and with senior leadership
Be highly detail-oriented and able to multitask
Have advanced Excel skills with the ability to build complex models to draw meaningful and reliable conclusions from large, complex and sometimes incomplete datasets.
Be comfortable building and maintaining reports from Netsuite & Salesforce.com
Be able to effectively communicate on a daily basis with non-finance professionals and demonstrate ability to deal with potentially emotive topics
Experience of working with commissions is desirable
Experience of building dashboards with Tableau or Power-Bi advantageous
