ExamSoft (a Turnitin company) is seeking a driven and passionate User Interface Architect to write and test code on the ExamSoft product suite. This role reports to VP, Software Engineering. This role will design and implement application architecture and own the application strategies and roadmap for a suite of applications. The primary areas of focus are core development, design and direction of application architecture and alignment of architecture with business objectives and high-level company technology direction.
The UI Architect will partner with other architects and technology decision-makers to guide the overall direction of the user interface layer of products and will work closely with Technical Leads, Architects, Engineers and Product in a highly collaborative environment.
This person is attentive to detail, driven to problem solve, and adaptive to new technologies and best practices. The User Interface Architect must be able to work effectively and efficiently with a variety of members within the organization to achieve roadmap deliverables.
Document standards and ensure they are effectively implemented by the development teams and understood by technology partners
Collaborate with delivery teams during both design and development phases to ensure adherence to UI architectural standards and best practices
Participate in the technical design and development of new features and products.
Maintain and support existing features and products.
Participate in code reviews and other techniques to improve code quality.
Investigate and resolve support issues.
Contributing to the continual improvement of the product and development processes.
Participating in software development process following Agile/Scrum methodology.
Advanced knowledge of unit testing best practices and Continuous Integration processes (CI/CD)
A strong understanding of approaches and techniques to optimize web performance
Advanced knowledge of build systems, including Linting, Compiling, Minifying, etc
Experience with LESS / SASS
Experience in modern UI/UX design styles and technologies
Experience in the design, development and use of component based UI architectures
Understanding of Micro-Frontend Architecture
Expert level understanding of the HTML DOM and underlying event model
Experience with implementing responsive web applications
Experience consuming / interacting with REST APIs and Microservices
Passionate about good design & user experience
Deliver best-in-class front-end code across numerous platforms
Sharp eye for detail and strong understanding of user-centered design principles
Develop and test across multiple browsers, platforms and devices
Experience in using version control systems (git)
Experience with continuous delivery and automated testing
Experience working in an Agile environment with frequent release cycles
Experience working within a SaaS or cloud-based environment preferred
Strong written/oral communication skills
Ability to plan well and execute with high quality level
