Job Description

Turnitin is looking for a new rock star People and Culture Partner to support our Technology Teams.  This is a unique opportunity to work with an established global tech company that is still nimble enough to move fast, and with a team has been given the latitude to create a truly unique employee experience.  We are not satisfied with the status quo and we’ve thrown out the rule book with regards to traditional HR.

You are: passionate about people, driven, collaborative, creative, thoughtful and love a good laugh.

In this role you will:

  • Create and maintain relationships with the Technology leaders and their team members, to support the people, cultural and organizational needs and to continue to build on our amazing culture. Employee Engagement is a core part of the People team’s work, so this is a great opportunity to bring your previous experience in building teams and delivering continuous improvement in a multi time-zone, international environment.

  • Reward and Salary planning to include; ownership for the international manpower plan for approximately 250 roles, close partnership with the Reward team, making decisions about salary scales, etc. Previous experience in reward and compensation is essential.

  • Through exceptional relationship building, you will fully understand the strategic direction of Turnitin and co-create HR/People focused initiatives with your client group to support and promote the achievement of our organizational goals.

  • Roll out the staple HR processes (performance management, compensation, benefits, feedback, retention etc.) by calling on your creativity to do so in a way that delivers the right results, in close partnership with the business, always striving to make us an exceptional place to work.

  • No one is perfect (except maybe you), so you will coach employees and leaders to help them develop and resolve the occasional challenge.

  • Utilize your ever deepening knowledge of legal requirements and best in class approaches to ensure we are not only compliant, but cutting edge in people practices.

  • Manage the inevitable surprises that pop up on occasion, by rolling up your sleeves and creating solutions to topics that we can’t accurately predict in a job description, but which you will be ready to tackle.

  • Focus on learning and growth as a key pillar to everything we do, working closely with your colleagues on the People team world-wide to inspire and support your client groups to achieve their aspirations.

Qualifications

  • Seasoned. BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience, preferably in HR /Business/Compensation and minimum 5+ years of People / HR experience which you’ve gained in a fast paced, performance driven culture. International experience is a plus.

  • Self-Starter. You are independent, organized, and passionate about detail. You are a team player, excellent at building relationships within your team and across teams.

  • Integrity. You understand how to handle confidential information and sensitive issues.

  • Agile. You’re an expert multi-tasker, independently prioritizing and ensuring all needs are met. You keep calm even when there’s a lot to do.

  • Talented. You are a true strategist and have superior verbal and written communication skills, representing us well in all you do.

  • Empathetic, approachable and engaging. You connect well with employees at all levels, and understand their needs. You have strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Eager to Learn. You are a motivated and active learner.  If you don’t understand something, you figure out a way to learn about it, and you aren’t afraid to ask when you need help.
