Job Description

The Manager of UX & Design will be responsible for ensuring a high standard in UX and the look and feel across a portfolio of products. Your team of designers spanning UX research & UX design, will support you in delivering high-value solutions to our customers. You will direct the vision of our integrated service experience and partner closely with engineering and product leaders on the overall product development process and maintaining a design and experience centric development orientation

  • Ownership for overall design architecture that supports and advances business goals and meet user needs.
  • Effectively collaborates with executives, product strategy, product managers, engineers, and user researchers to define, conceptualize, and design user-facing products.
  • Ensure skills and staffing assignments are aligned with strategy and product line needs.
  • Inspire, develop, and coach team members to ensure efficient operation of the UX and design function
  • Hire and retain top talent.  
  • Set the cultural and environmental tone for the design team to work effectively, including design team collaboration as well as cross-functional partnerships.
  • Drive our competency framework and career progression to ensure development paths for team members.
  • Subject matter expert and thought leader on user experience design across the company

Qualifications

Essential

  • ​​​​​​Minimum 5 years UX/UI design experience across mobile applications, SaaS websites, or enterprise software.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience: direct or indirect.
  • Strong thought leadership and UX design vision skills, including strong analytical, strategic, and conceptual design skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong design portfolio of work with a proven track record for solving difficult UX design problems and simplifying difficult business process to intuitive interfaces for customers.
  • Proficient with user research methodologies, user testing tools and web analytic platforms to help drive insights.
  • Proficient with InVision, Sketch and similar design and prototyping tools as well as using GitHub to collaborate with developers
  • BA/BS in design required, preferably in UX related fields of HCI, Industrial Design, Cognitive Design or Product Design

Preferred

  • 7 years design experience.
  • Multiple years leading a geographically diverse UX Research & UX Design team.
  • Masters in design, HCI, Industrial Cognitive or Product Design.
  • Experience managing remote teams.

  • Approach design with an in-depth understanding of customer needs, proactively seeking out customer contact and analytics to help plug gaps in your knowledge.
  • Comfortable communicating the value of your work, and justifying the design decisions you have made
