Turnitin is seeking to hire an Account Manager to join our NOA Higher Ed Sales Team!

SUMMARY 

The Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing their book of business in their designated HE Accounts. Acting in a consultative enterprise capacity, the Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships in specific Institutions that result in the sale and growth of Turnitin’s academic solutions. The Account Manager works out of their home office, as part of a regional team, and reports to the Director of Account Management – North America.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Drive new business growth through their current account base as well as maintaining their current book of business. 
  • Develop and execute territory plans using ICP’s in order to achieve quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Actively prospect and qualify in order to build a robust reliable 4X pipeline of opportunities based on Turnitin’s products and services portfolio. 
  • Manage complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and multiple products. 
  • Work closely with Field and Product marketing to align and help educate institutions with Tii direction and capability 
  • Develop strategic relationships with Key decision makers and conduct meetings and presentations with Institutional C level execs and administrators. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas and recognized success in negotiating and closing new business in the HE market.
  • Understanding of federal, state and Institutional level HE writing initiatives and standards, including formative assessment in the HE market, preferred
  • Experience and success using a value-based, consultative sales approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex sales with an extended sales cycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and present credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including Presidents, Provosts CAO, CIO and Director level
  • Ability to travel efficiently in a designated territory (which might vary depending on the business objectives), up to 50% of the time
  • Strong knowledge and experience with a CRM such as Salesforce
  • Perform other duties as assigned.                                              

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and BACKGROUND

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in education, business, or a related field required. 
  • 7-10 years field sales or similar experience selling to the Higher Ed market.
  • Curiosity and passion for learning are critical in this role. 
  • Be a good communicator, both verbal and written. Able to explain concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter and motivated passionate personality that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech-savvy with strong technical aptitude and critical thinking skills.
  • This is a home office position.
