Job Description

The Sales Commission Analyst will demonstrate integrity and excellence in the provision of expert analytical support, enabling Turnitin to make quality, evidence-based pay decisions for our Global Sales Teams. This role will provide the ability to add significant impact to a  growing, international sales function, enabling Turnitin’s regional leaders to make informed strategic decisions based on your analysis. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Own the SAAS sales commissions process from start to finish, including drafting comp plans, performing monthly calculations and liaising with sales employees
  • Assist in the design of compensation models for 50+ quota carrying sales team members, and assessment of fitness-of-purpose of existing models, inputting into discussions on their efficacy
  • Build & maintain reliable commission models and analytics for decision-makers (cyclical and ad hoc models), including assisting in selection and maintenance of commission software
  • Communicate Targets and Comp Statements in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Accounting & Payroll functions to ensure timely accruals and subsequent payment of commissions due
  • Calculate accelerator payments.
  • Establish processes and procedures that reduce the risk of error, including selection and maintenance of compensation software tool
  • Partner with Accounting, Sales Operations, and Sales to review commissions regularly
  • Build reporting dashboards and share insights and trends with Sales leadership
  • Evolve compensation model over time and to ensure alignment with company goals

Qualifications

To succeed in this role you must:

  • Be educated to degree standard, achieving a 2:1 or above in a Finance/Business-related degree
  • Have a strong understanding of a sales reward cycle with 2-3+ years in a Sales Finance, Sales Compensation, or FP&A role
  • Have the ability to work cross-functionally and with senior leadership
  • Be highly detail-oriented and able to multitask
  • Have advanced Excel skills with the ability to build complex models to draw meaningful and reliable conclusions from large, complex and sometimes incomplete datasets.
  • Be comfortable building and maintaining reports in Salesforce.com; experience with Xactly is strongly preferred. 
  • Be able to effectively communicate on a daily basis with non-finance professionals and demonstrate ability to deal with potentially emotive topics
