Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Civil & Construction Project Engineer to support the development and delivery of renewable energy projects, with a particular focus on biogas and biomethane facilities in Galicia, Spain.
The successful candidate will act as the Owner's Representative during the construction and commissioning phases, overseeing multidisciplinary site activities, managing technical changes, monitoring contractor performance, verifying compliance with project documentation, and supporting start-up and performance testing activities to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
- Manage and control engineering changes during project execution and implementation on site.
- Verify that construction works are performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Supervise civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation construction activities.
- Monitor contractor performance, schedule compliance and project milestones.
- Oversee equipment manufacturing, installation, commissioning and start-up activities.
- Provide technical support during commissioning, integration and trial operation phases.
- Ensure that construction teams are using the latest approved project documentation.
- Attend progress meetings with clients, EPC contractors and project stakeholders.
- Record and manage construction issues, non-conformities and potential contractual claims.
- Witness equipment delivery inspections and approve or reject equipment acceptance.
- Review and verify construction progress measurements and payment certificates.
- Supervise warranty and performance testing activities.
- Monitor compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Support quality assurance activities, audits, inspections and corrective action follow-up.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in industrial, energy or infrastructure projects.
- Solid understanding of construction supervision and project execution.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Desirable:
- Experience in biogas, biomethane, renewable energy or industrial process plants.
- Knowledge of EPC project execution.
- Experience managing contractors and site construction activities.
