Job Description
We are recruiting for a Global Health & Safety Controls Lead, as part of the Global H&S Function, to lead the development and implementation of HSE management systems as part of the BMS in accordance with regulatory requirements, international standards, and T&T strategic needs. You will set H&S policy, standards, procedures, processes and systems to establish and maintain a safe and secure workplace for all employees, contractors and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior regional leadership to integrate procedures and standards into regional operations
- Participate in sales and solutioning through provision of H&S controls to support RFI/RFP, commercial contracts and other business development activities to win, keep and grow the business
- Provide leadership, advice and guidance to managers on health and safety controls, and in the process, provide assurance that T&T is effectively delivering operations in accordance with key standards through the development and maintenance of appropriate controls
- Lead small project teams of internal stakeholders within the business in order to develop and implement the H&S procedures and processes within the T&T BMS, to meet statutory and broader external requirements and deliver the Safer Together Strategy
- Establish a controls framework that includes global standards, procedures and management systems that continually improves the health and safety arrangements within our operations and address key business risks
- Mitigate health and safety risks globally across all operations by developing, communicating and implementing effective global controls across all operations, promoting safe working practices, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation that prevents incidents
- Ensure Supply chains are assessed so that they possess the skills, knowledge, experience, organisational capability and willingness to contribute to the health and safety aims and aspirations of the Safer Together Strategy
- Develop clear procedures for emergency response, communication, alternative work arrangements and rapid recovery of critical operations and services
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification from an Occupational Safety & Health accreditation body (ex. NEBOSH, BCSP)
- Strong experience in senior health and safety management position, preferably within construction, heavy industrial, infrastructure, refining environments and/or manufacturing
- Working knowledge of regional H&S operating standards
- Clear understanding and articulation of a H&S Management System and experience of contributing key procedures that form part of this system
- Demonstrated experience of developing H&S procedures, processes. competence and the various elements of a management system
- Knowledge of Reporting of Injuries Diseases and Dangerous Occurrence Regulations (RIDDOR)
- Knowledge of OSHA standards
- Knowledge of designing and managing H&S management systems aligned to the requirements of ISO 45001
- Experience of leading EHSMS or relevant management systems within a large organisation; including leading on change management to embed practices, policy development experience, supply chain exposure and HSMS performance measurements
