Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Project Environmental, Health & Safety (ES&H) Manager to support the delivery of a major Data Centre construction project. Reporting to the Project ES&H Lead, you will play a key role in driving exceptional safety performance, overseeing contractor compliance, managing project risks, and promoting a proactive safety culture across a complex construction environment. This is a highly visible, site-based role requiring strong stakeholder engagement, technical expertise, and a passion for achieving world-class safety outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the implementation of project ES&H strategies, programmes, and performance objectives. 

  • Monitor and assess contractor ES&H performance across multiple work fronts. 

  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and assurance activities to verify compliance with project requirements and legal obligations. 

  • Review high-risk construction activities and ensure effective controls are in place. 

  • Lead or support incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions. 

  • Work closely with client representatives, contractors, and project teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance. 

  • Champion a positive safety culture through visible site engagement and proactive risk management. 

  • Support project reporting, governance activities, and communication of lessons learned and best practices. 

 

Qualifications

About You 

  • Degree qualified in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related discipline. 

  • NEBOSH Diploma, CMIOSH, CSP, or equivalent professional qualification preferred. 

  • 8-10 years of construction ES&H experience, ideally within data centers, industrial, infrastructure, or mission-critical projects. 

  • Strong knowledge of construction health and safety legislation, contractor management, and risk management principles. 

  • Proven experience working within large, multi-contractor construction environments. 

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Willingness to work in a site-based role with a visible presence in the field.
