Job Description

As a Project Coordinator SHE, you will help ensure that health, safety, and environmental excellence remain at the core of project delivery, supporting teams in maintaining compliance, minimizing risk, and fostering a strong safety culture across industrial construction projects.

🎯 Purpose of the Role

The Project Coordinator SHE is responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, and Environmental programs throughout the project lifecycle. This role works closely with project teams, contractors, clients, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure compliance with Mexican legislation, company standards, and industry best practices while promoting a proactive safety-first culture.

📋 Core Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to project and construction teams on Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance requirements.
• Coordinate risk assessments, safety inspections, incident investigations, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
• Support regulatory compliance activities, including labor inspections, audits, safety committees, and interactions with local authorities.
• Monitor and maintain project HS&E reporting systems, ensuring accurate tracking of safety performance and compliance metrics.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining company global SHE policies, procedures, and management systems.
• Collaborate with contractors and project stakeholders to identify risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support change management processes to ensure SHE requirements are effectively integrated into evolving project needs.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation related to HS&E performance, compliance, and project requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture through engagement, training support, and awareness initiatives across project teams.
• Support the coordination of environmental and occupational health programs to achieve project and client objectives.

Qualifications

🛠 Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Health, Safety & Environment roles within construction, industrial, manufacturing, or capital projects environments.
• Specialized training and certification in Occupational Health and Safety in accordance with Mexican regulations.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, safety inspections, and compliance audits.
• Proven ability to work effectively within construction projects with high safety standards and complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage personnel at all organizational levels.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet demanding project deadlines.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent Spanish required; English communication skills preferred.
• Solutions-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
