We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, and safety-focused Construction Site Safety Facilitator Assistant to join our team supporting hyper-scale data center projects across West Texas. Position Overview
The Construction Site Safety Facilitator Assistant will work alongside and be mentored by our Site Safety Facilitator. In this role, you will help monitor General Contractor (GC) safety performance, collect field data, track EHS metrics, and assist with daily walkabouts on active data center construction sites. You will gain hands-on experience in trade safety, regulatory compliance, and high-tech facility construction while serving as a vital support resource for the site management team.
Key Responsibilities
Site Walks & Field Support
Participate in daily walkabouts and safety tours with the Safety Facilitator, GC reps, and owner management to help identify and record hazards.
Assist in monitoring GC and subcontractor compliance with basic safety codes, site rules, and required PPE on site.
Help oversee field-level safety initiatives, including the execution of the "Boots on the Ground" safety program.
Observe and learn hazard recognition, particularly around heavy equipment, MEP installation, and electrical systems.
Data Collection & Reporting
Help gather, verify, and input daily and weekly EHS metrics, site tour logs, and incident data submitted by contractors.
Assist the lead Facilitator in drafting the weekly EHS summary report and preparing materials for monthly GC evaluations.
Maintain organized EHS document archives, including site orientation records, hazard assessments, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Meetings & Communication
Participate in daily safety meetings, contractor toolbox talks, and safety committee gatherings, taking notes and tracking action items.
Support emergency preparedness tasks, including keeping site emergency contact lists and evacuation maps current.
Promptly report any observed safety non-compliance to the lead Safety Facilitator and site leadership.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.
1-3 years of experience on active construction sites, trade work, or field safety operations.
OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
Intermediate computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Suite.
Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and a willingness to learn complex safety processes.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally with site crews and management.
Ability to work onsite, stand/walk for extended periods, and navigate active construction environments.
Preferred
Prior exposure to ground-up industrial, MEP, or electrical construction environments.
Familiarity with reading basic architectural or engineering drawings.
First Aid / CPR / AED Certification.
