Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Mechanical Manager to oversee mechanical maintenance, project execution, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mechanical systems, maintenance planning, troubleshooting, team management, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires leadership capabilities to manage maintenance teams, ensure equipment uptime, and support organizational productivity goals.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Maintenance & Operations
- Lead and manage preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for plant machinery and equipment.
- Ensure maximum equipment reliability, efficiency, and uptime through effective maintenance planning.
- Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution.
Project Management
- Oversee mechanical projects including installation, commissioning, modification, and expansion activities.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders for successful project delivery.
- Ensure projects are completed within scope, budget, and timelines.
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Implement TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or reliability improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Drive cost-saving and process optimization projects.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, statutory regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and equipment inspections.
- Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets and control operational expenses.
- Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers and service providers.
- Monitor spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8-10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, engineering, or project management.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial plants, heavy engineering, FMCG, automotive, energy, or related industries.
- Proven experience in managing teams and maintenance operations.
