Job Description

Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Data Centre sector globally. Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Infrastructure Manager to join our Data Centre team in Portugal.

In this position you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all temporary and permanent site infrastructure required for the successful delivery of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and coordinate all site infrastructure and enabling works activities.
  • Oversee the construction and maintenance of:
    • Temporary and permanent access roads
    • Haul roads and truck routes
    • Site entrances and security access points
    • Laydown and storage areas
    • Construction compounds and welfare facilities
    • Temporary & permanent campus utilities – water, wastewater, IT routes and site access points, electrical ducts, stormwater and all related infrastructure.
  • Coordinate site logistics and traffic management plans to ensure safe movement of personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Interface with contractors, designers, surveyors, project management teams, and local authorities regarding infrastructure requirements.
  • Conduct and lead site progress reviews on a daily basis to review HSE, logistics and progress against the programme.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and implement improvements to support construction activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, permitting environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies and municipal authorities
  • Manage infrastructure-related risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Track progress, budgets, and resource requirements for infrastructure works.
  • Support project planning by ensuring infrastructure is available ahead of construction activities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience delivering infrastructure and enabling works on large-scale construction projects; Previous data centre construction experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of civil infrastructure, temporary works, utilities, drainage, and construction logistics as well as of security, site access, haul roads and site productivity factors and site use
  • Experience managing multiple contractors in complex construction environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with fast-track construction programmes and complex site logistics.
  • Fluent English and Portuguese language skills.
