Job Description

The Construction Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring integrated project schedules for large-scale manufacturing and industrial construction projects. This role supports planning accuracy and timely execution across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases using Oracle Primavera P6 or MS Project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and control the integrated master schedule covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) phases of manufacturing facility projects.
  • Prepare, document, and maintain the Basis of Schedule (BoS), including assumptions, constraints, and sequencing logic.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders (owners, EPC teams, contractors, and vendors) to ensure accurate progress updates and schedule alignment.
  • Apply resource loading and productivity analysis to optimize manpower planning, equipment utilization, and crew composition.
  • Track and analyze Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics, including SPI/CPI, and develop S-curves for performance monitoring.
  • Implement and enforce owner and project-specific scheduling standards, procedures, and reporting frameworks.
  • Coordinate schedule integration and progress tracking with General Contractors, subcontractors, and manufacturing equipment suppliers.
  • Structure schedule activities aligned with Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and ensure integration with cost control and project management systems.
  • Facilitate Interactive Planning Sessions (IPS) / Pull Planning workshops with discipline leads, construction teams, and key suppliers.
  • Identify and monitor the critical path and near-critical activities, performing impact analysis and recommending mitigation or recovery plans.
  • Incorporate scope changes, design revisions, and field productivity trends into schedule updates and forecasts.
  • Generate weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports highlighting progress vs. baseline, risks, delays, and recovery strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with project controls requirements, safety standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory frameworks applicable to industrial and manufacturing construction.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project controls, planning, and scheduling within manufacturing, industrial, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Proven experience supporting projects such as factories, production plants, semiconductor facilities, automotive plants, or advanced manufacturing sites.
  • Strong expertise in building detailed schedules from conceptual/master plans using Primavera P6.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze schedule impacts, manage delays, and develop recovery plans.
  • Experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineering, construction, and equipment installation.

Education & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial/Production Engineering, or related field.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) preferred for cross-functional and international project coordination.
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • MS Project 
    • Oracle Primavera P6 is a plus
    • Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, dashboards, data analysis)
    • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Industrial construction sequencing and methodologies
    • Equipment installation and commissioning workflows
    • Project controls and cost/schedule integration
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities across contractors, vendors, and client teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, high-value capital projects with minimal supervision.
