Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Director to join our construction organization in Cairo, Egypt. In this executive-level position, you will provide comprehensive oversight of construction projects, ensuring exceptional performance across all critical dimensions including schedule adherence, quality standards, safety protocols, and on-time delivery. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive strategic decision-making to achieve organizational objectives while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and operational excellence.

  • Provide executive-level leadership and strategic direction for construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations
  • Oversee project schedules, timelines, and milestones, implementing corrective actions to maintain on-time delivery and optimize resource allocation
  • Monitor and enforce quality standards across all construction activities, conducting regular inspections and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive safety protocols, ensuring full compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies
  • Manage project budgets, control costs, and analyze financial performance metrics to ensure profitability and fiscal responsibility
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate project teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution and effective communication
  • Analyze project performance data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential project delays, cost overruns, and quality issues
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, reports, and records in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements
  • Represent the organization in client meetings and stakeholder communications, providing regular updates on project status and performance

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in construction project management, with at least 7 years in an executive or senior management capacity
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale construction projects on schedule and within budget
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, industry standards, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Strong proficiency in project management software and construction management systems (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent platforms)
  • Demonstrated expertise in budget management, cost control, and financial analysis
  • Advanced skills in contract management, vendor management, and stakeholder relationship management
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in safety management, risk assessment, and quality assurance protocols
  • Strong decision-making abilities and the capacity to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with construction practices and regulatory requirements in Egypt or the Middle East region is preferred
