Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Contracts Manager to join Turner and Townsend's Contract Services Team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. With a 'can do' attitude and results-oriented approach, you will deliver best-in-class contract management, claims management, and dispute resolution services across the region. You will support our Subject Matter Experts in providing strategic consultancy advice to clients on live contracts and projects, whilst contributing to the growth of our high-performing Contract Services division.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide expert contract management and consultancy services across a variety of construction sectors and project types, demonstrating hands-on experience with standard forms of contract including FIDIC and other recognised contract suites
  • Develop and implement comprehensive contract administration strategies, managing contract development, pre-contract and post-contract requirements from award through completion, including take-over of works and final assessment
  • Review and approve contractor and subcontractor submissions for compliance with primary contract requirements, whilst establishing and implementing contractor and consultant performance management frameworks
  • Lead contractual negotiations and provide strategic commercial guidance to project managers, services managers, and programme directors, managing relationships proactively to identify optimisation opportunities
  • Specialise in claims management and dispute resolution services, including compiling comprehensive claim reports, undertaking performance forensics analysis, and supporting arbitration and/or litigation processes
  • Apply methodical analytical skills to dispute avoidance and resolution, demonstrating a flexible and adaptable approach to service delivery under challenging scenarios on projects in distress
  • Provide confident client-facing consultancy support with strong presentational skills, communicating complex contractual and commercial information clearly to diverse stakeholders

 

Qualifications

**Required Experience:**

  • 15+ years of post-graduate progressive experience in contract administration and management within major civil and infrastructure projects
  • Substantial hands-on experience with international contracting mechanisms, particularly FIDIC suite of contracts and other recognised standard forms
  • Proven expertise in claims management and dispute resolution across complex, multi-party contracts
  • Demonstrated track record administrating multiple concurrent contracts on large-scale real estate and infrastructure projects
  • Established experience developing and implementing comprehensive contract administration strategies from pre-contract through completion and final assessment
  • Proven capability in establishing and managing contractor and consultant performance management frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience reporting to Boards, senior management, and higher authorities on contract performance and commercial matters

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, OR membership of a recognised International Professional Body (e.g., MRICS, RICS, or equivalent)
  • Fluency in English language, both written and spoken, with exceptional report writing and presentation capabilities

**Required Skills:**

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite and contract administration software
  • Extensive analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to achieve favourable commercial outcomes whilst maintaining positive stakeholder relationships
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities with experience mentoring and developing professionals
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple competing demands

**Preferred Experience:**

  • Previous experience working on projects in the Middle East region is an advantage
  • Knowledge of risk management, budget management, and cost control processes in infrastructure delivery
  • Experience in change management and stakeholder engagement on complex projects
