Job Description
Join Turner & Townsend as HR Manager - Build and Shape Our Growing Finland Business
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in building and shaping our people function within a leading international construction consultancy. You will support the growth of our business, partnering with key stakeholders to establish high-performing teams across our hub office and project sites.
Responsibilities:
- Support the growth of the Turner & Townsend business in Finland, including partnering with and guiding teams across the hub office and project construction sites.
- Own the employment contract process; manage and coordinate onboarding for office and site-based employees, including induction, equipment shipping, and ensuring a seamless first-day experience.
- Act as first point of contact for employees on HR-related queries, providing timely and professional guidance.
- Serve as the central HR interface from the hub office, collaborating closely with IT, Global Mobility, Recruitment and Nordics HR teams.
- Advise management on employee relations matters, local employment law, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
- Prepare payroll, employee records, and benefits (pension, healthcare, insurance, etc.), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure HR policies, processes, and procedures are aligned with best practices and legal requirements.
- Design and implement policies that promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
- Partner with leadership to develop and deliver talent strategies, including retention, succession planning, and development.
- Identify training needs and coordinate learning initiatives in line with global and regional L&D strategies.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and support the implementation of action plans with stakeholders.
- Contribute to HR projects, organisational change initiatives, and key people activities
- Produce HR reports, data analysis, and presentations to support decision-making by senior stakeholders.
- Conduct exit interviews and provide actionable insights to improve employee experience and retention.
Qualifications
- Passion for people management and creating an engaging employee experience.
- Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
- 5+ years of experience in operational HR, ideally within an international, technical, or consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of local employment legislation.
- Excellent written and spoken Finnish and English.
- Experience supporting employees across the full lifecycle, acting as a trusted point of contact for HR-related queries and ensuring a positive employee experience
- Proven ability to partner with managers, providing guidance on performance management.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with Workday is an advantage.
- Proactive and self-driven working style, Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels of the organisation.
- Hands-on mentality combined with strategic thinking and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
