Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Steward with 7–8 years of expertise in implementing and monitoring workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment, regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across projects or operations.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Management
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety programs
- Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions
- Promote a strong safety culture across all teams
Site Monitoring & Inspection
- Carry out regular site inspections and safety audits
- Identify hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions
- Ensure proper usage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Monitor high-risk activities such as working at heights, confined space entry, and hot work
Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses
- Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain safety records and documentation
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain safety logs, audit reports, inspection records, and permits
- Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory safety requirements
- Support internal and external safety audits
Training & Awareness
- Conduct training programs on safety practices and emergency procedures
- Educate employees on hazard identification and risk mitigation
- Participate in emergency drills and crisis management activities
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards (OSHA, ISO 45001)
- Ability to identify risks and implement preventive measures
- Excellent observation and reporting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in safety documentation and reporting
Qualifications
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering or relevant field
- Certification in Industrial Safety (NEBOSH / IOSH / Diploma in Safety preferred)
Preferred Experience
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or industrial projects
- Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and safety protocols
- Experience handling audits and regulatory compliance
