Job Description

Main purpose of the role

The Head of Real Estate Hungary is responsible for overseeing and managing the day to day operations of the company within the country, operating under the direction of the CEE Regional Director and within the approval framework defined in the DoA matrix.

The role focuses on effective execution of regional and global strategies at a local level, operational performance, client delivery, people leadership, and compliance. The Head of Real Estate ensures the country business operates efficiently, delivers high quality outcomes for clients, and remains aligned with Turner & Townsend’s Purpose, Values, and Vision.

This role requires strong operational judgement, collaboration, and leadership behaviours to support the regional objectives across the applicable cost centre, sector, segment, or project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and execute regional and global strategies locally, ensuring alignment with agreed objectives, priorities, and standards.
  • Provide local market insight, performance data, and risk input to the Regional Director to inform decision making.
  • Support regional initiatives and transformation programmes, including agreed priorities such as data, technology, and net zero.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies, operating models, and governance frameworks

Financial & Commercial Management

  • Manage country financial performance in line with agreed budgets and targets, under the oversight of the Regional Director.
  • Monitor revenue, cost, utilisation, and margin performance, escalating risks and variances as appropriate.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Implement agreed corrective actions to maintain financial discipline and performance.

Business Development & Client Support

  • Support local business development activities, aligned to regional market priorities and client strategies.
  • Maintain and develop key client relationships locally, acting as relationship lead for selected accounts where agreed.
  • Contribute to proposal development, bids, and client presentations in collaboration with regional and global teams.
  • Ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery that supports client retention and repeat business.

People Leadership & Capability

  • Provide strong, inclusive people leadership, fostering engagement, wellbeing, and performance.
  • Line manage and develop selected key roles within the country structure.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of talent in line with regional workforce plans.
  • Promote continuous development through coaching, performance management, and learning initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Turner & Townsend people processes, performance frameworks, and development expectations.

Client, Stakeholder & Internal Collaboration

  • Act as a local representative of the business, supporting client, partner, and stakeholder relationships as required.
  • Escalate complex or high‑risk client issues to the Regional Director and support resolution.
  • Work closely with regional leadership, sector leads, and shared services functions to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Represent the business at selected local industry events and forums

Project & Delivery Oversight

  • Provide oversight of key projects within the country.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with scope, quality, budget, and programme requirements.
  • Monitor delivery risks and work with project leadership to implement mitigation actions.
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing, governance, and reporting at project level.

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

  • Actively promote a culture of care and safety, visible through leadership behaviours.
  • Ensure compliance with local legislation and Turner & Townsend health, safety, and wellbeing standards.
  • Support the implementation of safety initiatives and respond appropriately to incidents or risks

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, architecture, project management, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in operational leadership or senior management roles, preferably within a multinational professional services or project based environment within the Real Estate or Industrial sector.
  • Experience in managing business performance, delivery, and people within an agreed governance framework.
  • Sound financial and commercial understanding, with experience managing budgets and forecasts.
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work effectively within a regional structure.
  • Fluency in English and Hungarian required
