Job Description

Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Industrial, Science & Technology sector globally. Due to the continued success and expansion of our business in Slovakia we are currently recruiting for an expert who will play a key role on the investor’s side in the delivery of a large-scale automotive project. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional who understands the complexity of HVAC, ventilation, and building technical systems, and who can effectively coordinate suppliers, communicate with clients, and ensure quality and safety during implementation.

As HVAC Engineer / Building Technologies Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical supervision of HVAC system installation and commissioning, ensuring compliance with design documentation, technical standards, and client requirements. You will work closely with the project team, technical consultants, and contractors, with a direct impact on the successful delivery of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of technical drawings and HVAC system design documentation
  • Supervision of installation of air-conditioning systems (splits, chillers, fan coils, etc.), ventilation, and exhaust systems in industrial buildings
  • Support of the project team in scheduling, cost estimation, and planning
  • Inspection of installations for:
    • Water storage and distribution systems
    • Fire protection systems
    • Distribution of special gases
    • Industrial wastewater systems
    • Compressed air and steam systems
  • Planning and supervision of testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of HVAC systems
  • Application of safety standards and engineering best practices throughout the project lifecycle
  • Participation in technical meetings with clients, designers, and contractors
  • Preparation of technical reports and participation in stakeholder meetings
  • Communication with client operations teams to align system interfaces

Qualifications

  • University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience supervising HVAC projects and technical building systems
  • Technical expertise in:
    • Central air-conditioning systems
    • Building automation
    • Ventilation and exhaust systems
  • Knowledge of relevant technical standards and regulations
  • Experience in automotive industry projects is an advantage
  • Negotiation skills and ability to represent the investor’s interests
  • Strong problem-identification skills and ability to resolve crisis situations
  • Dynamic, innovative, and proactive approach
  • Team-oriented, non-confrontational personality
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Slovak: Expert (C2); English: Upper-intermediate (B2), including technical terminology
  • Driving license: Category B
