Job Description
1. Contractual Governance & Advisory
Risk Appraisal: Review complex prime contracts to identify "killer clauses" (liquidated damages, indemnities, onerous payment terms) and draft mitigation strategies.
Interpretation: Act as the internal authority on contract terms (FIDIC, JCT, NEC, or bespoke) to guide the PJM team in day-to-day decision-making.
Claims Management: Lead the strategy for identifying, notifying, and substantiating requests for Extensions of Time (EoT) and Additional Cost claims.
2. Financial Engineering & Cost Control
Margin Optimization: Monitor project profitability, performing deep-dive analysis on cost-to-complete forecasts and "Value Add" opportunities.
Change Management: Overhaul the Change Order process to ensure all variations are captured, priced at market rates, and negotiated for maximum recovery.
Cash Flow Management: Oversee the billing cycle to ensure aggressive invoicing and timely collections, optimizing the project's working capital.
3. Procurement & Supply Chain Strategy
Subcontractor Lifecycle: Lead the commercial evaluation of bids, ensuring "back-to-back" contract terms that shift appropriate risk to the supply chain.
Negotiation: Act as the lead negotiator for high-value vendor packages and sensitive client disputes.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, Finance, or Civil Engineering.
Experience: 8–10 years in commercial management, with a proven track record of managing projects.
