Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a competent and motivated Building Consultancy Services Manager to support and deliver a wide range of building consultancy and project management services. Candidates with less experience but strong technical capability and professional potential will be considered for the role of Building Surveyor.
The successful candidate must be a Corporate Member of HKIS (MHKIS) and will play an important role in the delivery of A&A works, maintenance & repair projects, building inspections, statutory compliance, and government-related consultancy assignments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Delivery & Consultancy Services
- Manage and deliver building consultancy assignments including A&A works, maintenance and repair projects, and building improvement works.
- Assist in project planning, consultant coordination, tendering, site administration, and contract management.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with agreed scope, programme, budget, and quality standards.
2. Building Surveying & Technical Services
- Conduct building inspections, condition surveys, defect diagnosis, and prepare professional reports.
- Provide technical advice on building defects, repair strategies, statutory compliance, and lifecycle planning.
- Prepare or review drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and tender documents.
3. Statutory & Regulatory Support
- Support APs and senior staff in statutory submissions, compliance reviews, and coordination with BD, FSD, and other authorities.
- Assist in monitoring statutory timelines and approval processes.
- Ensure works comply with Buildings Ordinance, codes of practice, and relevant regulations.
4. Government & Institutional Projects
- Support or manage assignments related to government maintenance and repair term contracts and public-sector projects.
- Assist in contract administration, site inspections, progress reporting, and coordination with contractors and consultants.
5. Client & Team Coordination
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams on technical and project matters.
- Prepare progress reports, meeting minutes, and client correspondence.
- Support junior staff and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications
Mandatory
- Corporate Member of HKIS (MHKIS) in Building Surveying.
- Degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of Hong Kong building regulations, statutory procedures, and building practices.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in A&A works, building maintenance & repair projects, and project management.
- Exposure to government or public-sector consultancy projects is an advantage.
- Familiarity with statutory submission processes and coordination with BD/FSD.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical and analytical skills in building surveying.
- Good communication and report-writing skills in English and Chinese.
- Proactive, responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar tools is an advantage.
