Job Description

Position: Billing Engineer

Experience Required: 8–10 Years

Location: Gurugram

Department: Engineering / Contracts / Billing

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Billing Engineer with 8–10 years of expertise in managing project billing, quantity surveying, rate analysis, contracts, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, infrastructure, or EPC projects and will be responsible for ensuring accurate measurement, timely billing, and proper documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Billing & Documentation

  • Prepare, verify, and finalize client bills, contractor bills, and subcontractor bills.
  • Ensure accurate BOQ (Bill of Quantities) measurement as per drawings and site execution.
  • Maintain proper documentation for RA bills, final bills, and variation orders.
  • Track and ensure compliance of billing with contract terms and project timelines.

2. Quantity Surveying & Cost Control

  • Conduct detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and site surveys.
  • Monitor actual site work quantities and compare them with estimates.
  • Assist in cost estimation, rate analysis, and preparation of cost-related reports.
  • Identify deviations, cost impacts, and raise timely alerts.

3. Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Planning, and Procurement teams for billing inputs.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors for billing approvals and certifications.
  • Support audits and respond to billing-related queries.

4. Contracts & Compliance

  • Ensure billing is aligned with contractual terms, conditions, and specifications.
  • Assist in managing contract amendments, claims, and variation proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

5. Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare regular MIS reports:
    • Billing status
    • Work progress vs. certified quantities
    • Cost variance reports
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of construction billing, QS, and project cost control.
  • Hands-on experience in AutoCAD, MS Excel, ERP systems, and billing software.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation capabilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proactive approach with attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech – Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
  • Additional certification in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management is an advantage.
