Job Description

​​​​​​We are now seeking a Programme Manager to join us and play a key role assisting our clients in the transition to a low carbon energy future. The role will involve working in a dynamic and fast paced organisation and will afford the candidate the opportunity to work on strategic and innovative projects across all stages of delivery from concept to design and construction. The candidate should have a strong contract and project management background with a proven track record of delivering large scale complex infrastructure projects through the regulatory, design, procurement and construction stages.

  • Provide strategic leadership and manage a team to support the delivery of the project.
  • Oversee a major portfolio and drive timely delivery in line with monthly targets.
  • Engage regularly with stakeholders to communicate progress, highlight risks, and address issues as they arise.
  • Lead and support a high‑performing internal process team, including a dedicated Project Manager, ensuring strong programme management discipline.
  • Establish and promote best practices for process delivery and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of high‑performance capabilities and behaviors within the team, fostering proactive stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide guidance, support and collaboration to team members and other internal teams.
  • Represent the organisation in stakeholder, regulator and discussions and negotiations.
  • Engage regularly with senior management and executives both internally and externally to manage complex interactions and drive optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with peers across the organisation to address business priorities and manage complex technical and commercial issues as they arise.
  • Act as an escalation point, providing technical guidance and ensuring effective coordination and communication with stakeholders.
  • Lead effective relationship management through accurate reporting, meaningful engagement, and a strong understanding of client needs.

Qualifications

  • You will have 15+ years relevant experience preferably with a construction / energy / engineering background.  
  • Power system industry expertise, utilities / construction experience along with the ability to adapt, innovate and meet changing demands;
  • Knowledge of the industry, environment and context, experience working within a similar regulated utility environment;
  • Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience;
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to make decisions and recommendations in all aspects of project implementation;
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Recognised accredited Project Management Professional (PMP) Qualification.
