Job Description
The IT Infrastructure Project Manager plays a key role in delivering technology infrastructure across Data Centers and office environments. This role focuses on the planning, coordination, and execution of IT connectivity infrastructure, including structured cabling, communications room setup, ELV systems, and network hardware installations.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Coordination
- Collaborate with construction teams to define MDF/IDF room requirements, including quantity, layout, cooling, and power needs.
- Design passive IT infrastructure, including structured cabling and ELV (extra-low-voltage) systems.
- Coordinate with network engineers on network and Wi-Fi design, ensuring alignment with deployment standards.
- Create detailed infrastructure design packages following client design guidelines and participate in design reviews prior to issuance of work orders.
- Ensure proper planning for network hardware installation (switches, racks, patch panels, etc.).
Project Delivery & Execution
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of IT infrastructure, coordinating with general contractors, cabling vendors, MEP teams, and network engineers.
- Prepare project proposals, RFPs, estimates, and preliminary schedules.
- Attend site meetings, track actions, and maintain detailed project documentation.
- Monitor installation quality and progress across cabling, ELV, networking, and MEP interfaces.
- Use project management tools to update project status, risks, issues, changes, and timelines.
- Manage design modifications, change orders, and close‑out documentation.
- Ensure that client requirements are met efficiently and cost‑effectively.
Quality & Compliance
- Conduct and track field inspections, ensuring adherence to cabling, MDF/IDF, and network installation standards.
- Maintain documentation using structured formats throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding project milestones and issues.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in network infrastructure deployment, including structured cabling, ELV systems, and MDF/IDF build‑outs.
- Knowledge of server room requirements (power, cooling, racks, cable pathways).
- Hands‑on understanding of network hardware installation.
- Basic Cisco or Juniper CLI knowledge.
- Minimum 2 years of project management in IT infrastructure, data center, or technology-related construction environments.
- Experience collaborating with construction and MEP teams (but technical focus must be IT/networking).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- PMP, PRINCE2, RCDD, or CNET certifications are a plus.
